VKV City Racing is the Netherlands' largest free Formula 1 event and is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. Former world champion Kimi Räikkönen from Finland will show his stuff in the streets of Rotterdam during this anniversary edition. Jos Verstappen, the Netherlands' most successful Formula 1 driver of all time, has joined the organisation as sports director especially for this anniversary edition.

At VKC City Racing, the stars of car and motorcycle racing will show spectators in the centre of Rotterdam what can normally only be seen on racetracks. This means the Rotterdam city centre will be transformed into a racetrack for one day. Spectators will be able to access most of the course free of charge. There will also be several grandstands offering paid seating where visitors can watch the action. The first VKV City Racing was held in 2005 and the event attracts some 500,000 visitors every year.

Scuderia Ferrari, one of the most legendary teams in the history of Formula 1, will come into action at VKV City Racing. Santander is bringing the team with star driver Kimi Räikkönen to Rotterdam. The Italian brand already has 31 world titles to its name (16 constructor titles and 15 driver titles). Former world champion Räikkönen will give a demonstration in a genuine Ferrari F10 Formula 1 at VKV City Racing.

Rotterdam is the city trip destination of the moment that offers a wide and diverse range of activities for real adventurers. For example, RIB Adventures provides the ultimate experience on the water. The RIB boats soar across the Maas River at speeds ranging from 80 to 90 kilometres an hour. Splashtours is another fun attraction on the water. This ultra-ultra modern amphibious bus drives past the city's most beautiful sights and then 'splashes' into the Maas to let passengers take in the breathtaking views of the skyline from the water.
VKV City Racing offers paid grandstand seating at various locations where spectators can be assured of having a good view of the action. The Silver tickets provide access to the Silver grandstand directly in front of the track. Spectators will also have access to the paddock after the programme. The VIP village will welcome 5,000 guests who will enjoy the very best view and first-rate catering. Please click here for ticket sales.
The Willemsbrug Bridge in the heart of Rotterdam will be the setting for a unique music and motorcycling event on the eve of VKV City Racing 2014: Burning Rubber Live. This spectacle on Saturday, 30 August will showcase a number of speed demons who will entertain the audience with spectacular demonstrations. Once the smoke has settled, the deejays will take over the steering wheel from the speed demons to turn their own wheels of steel.

For the ultimate adrenaline rush, you can abseil from the Euromast. It is the only location in Europe where visitors can abseil and zip wire in this way from a height of 100 metres. The Klimpark Fun Forest in Kralingse Bos park also has lots to offer for action enthusiasts. With six different courses, there is something for everyone – for young and old and for beginners and advanced.
